Dear ,

Memorial Day was bright and beautiful.  Many of our Cedar Village residents, and their visitors, were outside in the sun and many of them were reminiscing about their own, or their loved one's, war-time experiences.  We have a lot of veterans that live here and all of them have remarkable stories to tell.  We are always glad to have the opportunity to commemorate this day with them and thank them for their service to our country.

Although it is hard to believe that it is June already, the calendar tells us that's true.  And we've already had our June Resident of the Month celebration, as it is set for the first Wednesday of each month.  We had a big crowd of family and friends join us in the Wilbur and Mary Jean Cohen Religious and Cultural Center and we shared some remarkable stories and words of wisdom.  We gain so much each time we learn more about the very special folks who live here at Cedar Village. Each month's program is very different but each month we are inspired, touched, educated and charmed by the stories of these unique individuals.

Lots of exciting events are ahead-on June 23, we will hold a community showing of "Family in Captivity," a film about imprisoned Israeli soldier, Gilad Shilat and his family.  That will be at 10 a.m. in the Cohen Center and it is open to all.  We'll have discussion and refreshments as well so please plan to join us if you can.  The Cedar Village Golf Classic is also right around the corner. As we know, August 22 will be here before we know it.  Mark your calendar and watch for your invitation in the mail!

As for new projects and initiatives-the rehab renovation is moving along smartly and we'll be holding our new Rehabilitation Center grand opening in early July.  It will be a chance for you to see this brand new space and service and we promise a very festive event so don't miss it!  Cedar Village Hospice continues to grow as well.  We feel privileged to be able to offer this important service, full service hospice built on a foundation of Jewish values, to our residents and to our community.  We are accepting referrals for hospice services in the community and that includes the entire Cincinnati area.  If you would like more information, or to make a referral, please call us at 513-754-3100 and we will be glad to assist.

All the best,
