Dear ,
We have had
numerous Sukkoth events this week at Cedar Village and, of course, we have
services tomorrow morning for Shemini Atzeret, beginning at 9:15 a.m. in the
Synagogue with Temple services beginning at 10:00 a.m. Both services will
conclude around 11:45 a.m. with a community Kiddush in the Sukkah. On
Friday morning, the Simchat Torah schedule begins with services in the
Synagogue at 9:30 a.m. and the Temple follows at 9:45 a.m. A joint
Hakafot and Kiddush will take place in the Cohen Center beginning around 10:45
a.m. Our Simchat Torah services are truly a joy to those watching as well
as those participating. Watching residents carrying Torahs, seeing the joy
in their faces as they are afforded this honor, is very special and very
moving. We'd love to have you with us for any and all of these
holiday celebrations-please join us if you can!
We're
gearing up for the big Friends of Cedar Village Monte Carlo event on Sunday
afternoon, October 10, beginning at 2 p.m. It is a great afternoon for
residents and visitors including some lively "gambling," delicious
refreshments and lots of laughter. Come and be a part of it-you'll
be glad you did.
Our brick
dedication in the Friends of Cedar Village Chai Court was a lovely event this
past Sunday. Each of the founders of the Friends was honored with a brick
paver as a permanent part of that beautiful space. The weather cooperated with
a beautiful day and we had a wonderful program that included a walk down memory
lane, sharing some great stories of the development of the Friends, as well as
some impromptu comments from folks who were in attendance. It was a
perfect afternoon and we look forward to the dedication of the other bricks,
those placed this year in honor or in memory of someone, in October.
All the best,

Carol Silver Elliott
CEO/President, Cedar Village
