Dear ,
Shanah Tovah
to one and all as we prepare to celebrate the new year together at Cedar
Village. Services begin this evening, both in the Temple and the Synagogue
and continue both tomorrow and Friday. We're always happy to have
you join us!
Yesterday we
packaged small honey cakes for each of our residents. We do some sort of
holiday treat every year, from apples and honey to honey cakes we've
baked in the Cedar Village kitchens. This year, I confess, we ordered them from
a supplier and they do look a lot more perfect than those we baked
ourselves! We tied them with ribbons and new year cards and they were
delivered in the afternoon. It may seem like a small thing but we think
it's important-it's a way to honor the holiday with our
residents and to let them know, in yet another way, that we care.
Holidays are
times of memory, they trigger many emotions in all of us and in our
residents. We've shared stories and traditions with one another and
learned so much from the history and wisdom of those for whom we are privileged
to care. This evening we will join together, as we do every year, and
begin the holidays with our Cedar Village family. We may not be "biological
family" but we are family all the same and we are grateful to share our
holidays with one another.
From our
Cedar Village family to yours, best wishes for a year of blessings and joy,
peace and health.
All the best,
