2010 has started off on a positive note at Cedar Village. One of the highlights of this week was the first of an exciting series of programs. Called "Thirteen Rabbis, Thirteen Principles of Faith" it has been developed in honor of Cedar Village's 13th birthday year. Each program will feature a local rabbi who will begin with a special luncheon with Cedar Village residents who are, or were, members of their congregation. That will be followed by an educational program, delivered by the rabbi, and open to all of our Cedar Village family. Rabbi Hanan Balk was our first presenter and the entire program received rave reviews. We love these opportunities to educate and to connect with our community. If you have other program suggestions, let us know--we would love to hear from you!
Winter is a great time to focus on indoor activities and we have lots of them at Cedar Village. What are your interests? Are you a card player, a baker, a reader, a movie buff? Whatever your passion, we have a volunteer opportunity for you! We welcome new volunteers and new ideas and it is a great way to bring warmth into the lives of our residents, and into your own life, during these frigid months. Why not check it out? You can contact Marcia Westcott at mwestcott@cedarvillage.org and together perhaps find a great new outlet for you--and a way to do some good for others.
All the best,
Carol Silver Elliott
