What a great evening and day. Last night we hit a lot of traffic heading into Haifa. One of our residents was observing yahrtzeit and had asked to have a minyan. Because of the time, Rabbi Walter led a minyan on the bus. We prayed together, we sang and we shared a very special moment.
Today we learned much about the history of Israel in the year prior to its official existence. We visited the British detention camp at Atlit and then the Aaronson home in Zichron Yakov. We learned of acts of tremendous bravery and the efforts of so many that led up to the independence of the State of Israel.
We had a fun lunch at the Carmel Winery (without wine!) and then stopped for an ice cream snack in the mid-afternoon. We ended the day relaxing in Haifa and getting ready to hit the road again tomorrow. On to the Golan!
