An "Epic" Timeline
The tentative timeline is aggressive: some Ambulatory clinics would go live in about a year, with Inpatient units, the ICUs and the ED coming online with a "big bang" scheduled for fall 2011. Preparations are in full swing. |

More flu vaccine arrives for patients The hospital switched suppliers to get more H1N1 vaccine and finally secured enough to begin inoculating its highest-risk patients. Meanwhile, the number of hospitalized influenza cases at UCH appears to be dropping dramatically, but no one is declaring the risk over.

A "quality" change for med, nursing students With a new grant, the School of Medicine and College of Nursing are trying to integrate spotty quality and safety training more tightly into their students' studies and encourage interprofessional communication. But faculty expertise is an issue. The CON's associate dean of Clinical Affairs Amy Barton (above) is helping to lead the charge.
