TASTING L.A.
One neighborhood at a time...

Sunday October 9th is the much anticipated second installment (this year) of CicLAvia where Los Angeles streets are closed to motor traffic and opened for people to play. This time they've extended the route of closed to motor traffic roads from 7.5 miles to 10 miles. Eye Spy LA went to last April's event and had a great time! I strapped my Flip to the handlebars and wobbled through downtown CLICK HERE for the video and story. This is a great way to get a taste of Downtown L.A. and some of the other neighborhoods on the route. Weather looks like it's going to be fantastic too.
OR wander around eating and drinking at these events: JUST 4 FUN There were so many interesting events this week - you'll find the full list of this week's picks HERE. |

Still pondering options, I got off the Hollywood Boulevard exit and spotted a sign partially hidden behind a building that said Natalie Peruvian Seafood Restaurant. ..

PLAYWRIGHT HENRY MURRAY BREAKS THE MOLD WITH HIS NEW PLAY "MONKEY ADORED" by M.R. Hunter
It's been a fifteen-year journey for playwright Henry Murray-a journey that began while dining in a restaurant with a couple of his good friends-who were unaware at the time they would inspire a trio of very unusual characters: a monkey, a cat and a rat. In the interest of protecting their identities, Murray not only changed their names but their species as well in his bawdy love story that began as a playwriting exercise in a U.C.L.A. class taught by Murray Mednick, (accomplished playwright and founder of the Padua Hills Playwrights Workshop/Festival).
With this weekend's opening of "Monkey Adored" at the acclaimed Rogue Machine, Murray opens up about the writing process and the path that would wind its way to a fully staged production...
