LABOR DAY WEEKEND in L.A.

LABOR DAY

It's Labor Day weekend, relax, take a break! Plop into your favorite lounge chair, kick back a brewski, throw some burgers on the grill and watch the grass grow. Okay that was fun, so what's next?

The L.A. County Fair  opens Saturday September 3rd with $1 early admissions all Labor Day weekend. That is an entertainment bargain and could, all by itself, keep you busy the entire weekend.

LA COUNTY FAIR

THIS JUST IN - another great reason to go to the fair this year: Along with 20 other exhibitors, MONA (Museum of Neon Art) will be a part of the Millard Sheets Center for the Arts exhibition called ECLECTIONS, The Art of Collections featuring over twenty signs from MONA's historic sign collection. Ongoing demonstrations of neon bending and artists presentations will take place throughout the month in the outdoor patio of the Fine Arts complex.

THINGS TO DO this week through Labor Day:

  • Go on a Metro Art Tour in Hollywood or at Union Station (free).
  • Friday & Saturday free music at the Dome Arclight with Gregg Young and the 2nd Street Band.
  • Head to Catalina for 3 days with the Sierra Club.
  • On Saturday morning Drum Downtown (free).
  • The Outdoor Cinema Food Fest heads to the San Fernando Valley this Saturday screening Close Encounters at the Northridge Little Leage field.
  • All weekend TheTaste - the LA TImes and Food & Wine are putting on 9 events over 4 days in Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Downtown L.A. offering food, wine, spirits, entertainment, cooking demonstrations and seminars. I couldn't resist buying tickets to the Food Noir event on Sunday which benefits the LA Conservancy. NOW you can get 40% discount tickets using the code: "WEB".

and there's more Eye Spy LA Editor's Picks this week.  You'll find all the details HERE.

ALSO: there is fun to be had anytime at some of our

favorite locations  to take out of town visitors or to just hang out and people watch.
