THE BEST OF SUMMER: HP VII, PART 2 - HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS by Mark Share

HARRY POTTER

HP VII, part 2 premiered in Los Angeles at a benefit for our closest equivalent to Hogwarts, Harvard-Westlake school, which held a screening Tuesday evening July 12 at the darkly deco theater at Warner Brothers.

SHAKESPEARE BOOK As the temperatures rise, so too do the number of Shakespeare productions. Take for instance, Theatricum Botanicum's annual staging of A Midsummer Night's Dream along with this year's The Merry Wives of Windsor and Richard III. There's also Shakespeare by the Sea, the Independent Shakespeare Company's free Griffith Park Festival, and the Troubadour's outrageous Fleetwood Macbeth just to name a few.

It seems the Bard is best served when hot and Esquire columnist Stephen Marche's concise but impassioned study on "How Shakespeare Changed Everything" ignites interest and debate on the magnitude of Shakespeare's influence nearly 400 years after his death...
