So find something unique or unusual to give her or to do on that special day:

Athletic mom? Maybe she would like to Learn To Curl - I'm not talking about a new hairdo, this is a cool sport.
Born to shop mom? Take her shopping at a Unique Spring Event in a 90,000 sq ft loft at the California Market Center.
Nesting mom? Take her on the Out of the Nest Bird Walk at King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas.
Cultural mom? Take her to Mother's Day at the Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga or to "Muse" at the Miles Memorial Playhouse in Santa Monica.
