A BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND & A FEAST OF FESTIVALS ...
Head outdoors anywhere. The desert will be warm but not hot. The mountains will be snowy but not cold. The beaches - beautiful, but you may want to check for tsunami alerts (due to the earthquake in Japan) before you go. Or you could get on your bicycle and take a Folk Art Bike Tour.
FEAST OF FESTIVALS
Go fly a kite at the annual Festival of the Kite in Redondo Beach, head to Dana Point for the Festival of Whales, go green at a Groundwater Festival in Lakewood, or go green for an early St. Pat's day celebration at the St. Patrick's Day Festival in Orange County or the L.A. County Irish Fair in Pomona.
FEED YOUR FUNNY BONE: Take a trip back to the future with Charles Phoenix in Torrance this Saturday doing his Retro Southern California Slideshow. If you haven't been you should go, if you have been, you already know that. Last chance to go to Joni & Gina's Wedding this Saturday. More on the Comedy calendar.
If you're heading to the desert here are some winter photos I've taken near Palm Springs and at Pioneer Town near Joshua Tree.
Mark Share went to Mt Baldy recently to play in the snow.
There's more of course,
Get all the details and the full list here or, if you prefer some psychic advice before you make any moves, scroll below for Cici's Eyestrology forecast for the coming week. |

These dinners consist of 10 to 15 courses for up to 12 guests at a secret location and are cooked solely by Chef Thornton himself. Diners have no advance warning of what the meal will entail since the actual menu isn't created until the day of the dinner. From what I could tell, the food itself seemed quite eclectic with a modern global spin on it and his use of a lot of different cooking techniques and the artistry in his plating was really intriguing...

"ONE NIGHT TO DIE FOR" IS A RATHER MEDIOCRE NIGHT AT THE KNIGHTSBRIDGE THEATRE by Ali Tobia

"One Night To Die For" is a double feature of farce comedy featuring "Audience" by Michael Frayn, and "The Real Inspector Hound" by Tom Stoppard at the Knightsbridge Theater in Silver Lake. The night presents two highly theatrical one acts by two major league players in the playwriting world.
Yet for all its fantastic material, "One Night To Die For" is a tiresome outing with its shallow acting and unexciting direction...
