MAKE SOME NOISE

There's a whole lot of holiday feasting, partying, crawling, singing-along and noisy parading this week in L.A.
GET TOGETHERS: Head to the Holiday Sing-Along at the Music Center (Friday), put on your santa suite and join the SANTA Monica Pub Crawl to raise money and food for those in need (Saturday), grab your boombox (or not) and make some noise at the annual UnSilent Night Parade (Sunday).
HOLIDAY FEASTS FOR YOUR EARS: Head to the Alex Theatre in Glendale this weekend for some "Comfort and Joy" with the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles (Saturday & Sunday), get "In The Christmas Mood" with the Glenn Miller Orchestra in Rancho Cucamonga (Sunday), join the Hollywood Master Chorale for a Holiday Feast (Sunday).
LOOKING FORWARD: to the 51st Annual LA County Holiday Celebration at the Music Center on Christmas Eve. Don't forget NYE is coming up... You'll find more holiday events on the Holiday page.
Had Enough HOLIDAY STUFF? How about a Great Train Expo or a Computer Fair - both this weekend at the L.A. County Fairplex in Pomona. Of course if you have a techno junkie or model train buff on your gift list...
Speaking of gift lists some SHAMELESS self promotion. Peach Tree Pottery's Annual Holiday Sale re-opens this weekend. I'll be showing a few of my favorite photographs (come by and take a look!), but this is a great place to find some decorative or functional pottery, jewelry, hand woven scarves, candles and other handmade items by local artists/artisans. Sat/Sun afternoon in Mar Vista.
There's more of course ...

DOWNTOWN L.A. ADVENTURE
By M.R. Hunter
Eye Spy LA took the Metro downtown for some holiday spirit. First stop was ice skating and a Menorah lighting at Pershing Square. Then we walked across the street to the historic Biltmore hotel and stumbled upon their annual tree lighting party and bell choir. Then we took a ride up Angel's Flight to see the decorations at California Plaza and on to the Music Center Plaza. Then back onto the subway for more ice skating and dinner at LA Live.
Twas a few weeks before Christmas...

"CYRANO DE BERGERAC": PASS ON THIS BIG HONKER BY THE RUSKIN GROUP THEATRE by M.R. Hunter
The Ruskin Group Theatre in Santa Monica is revered for taking on ambitious productions in their limited space and turning out successful little gems that lack nothing in terms of quality. Their latest show, "All My Sons" is a perfect example of the fine work this company can do when both the audience and the cast believes in the world of the play. Alas, poor Cyrano's oversized schnoz proves to be too big and bold for Rae Allen's less than imaginative direction that never overcomes the lack of illusion in Anthony Burgess' keen translation of Rostand's romantic, swashbuckling comedy...
