Haunts, Horrors & Gore Galore of Course But There's Food & Fun Too This Week

Spooky Palm 200Take a tour of Artist's Homes in Laguna Beach or go on a Mourning Tour in Heritage Park. Take a guided walk through the Ballona Wetlands, have a CityRace adventure in Long Beach, go on a hunt for Haunts in Angelino Heights, or go on a Mystery Trip?

After all that no doubt you'll be hungry. Head to Oktoberfest in Long Beach for some music, brats and beer (a new event put on by the same people who do the Long Beach Crawfish and Lobster festivals - so it should be good). Or go gourmet at the annual Taste of Abbot Kinney.

Just for laughs: Best in Drag at the Orpheum and Page to the Stage at the Laugh Factory.

Believe it or Not! L.A. has a history and it comes alive at the 5th Annual Los Angeles Archives Bazaar on Saturday.

For ghoulish adventures and supernatural thrills and chills, or maybe you just want to pick out a pumpkin, check our Halloween page for lots of "scary stuff" to do in Los Angeles - we've braved some of them ourselves. We rode a haywagon to hell on LA's Haunted Hayride, voyaged with a shipload of ghouls and ghosts at Dark Harbor, and encountered the living dead on the Haunted Hollywood Scavenger Hunt (read the story below). Plus we discovered that Burbank is Halloween Town - a great area to find all the gear you'll need to dress up this year.

This is one of those really busy weekends and there is plenty more ....on the Eye Spy LA Calendar

The Train DriverWHAT A TRIUMPH! FUGARD'S "THE TRAIN DRIVER" AT THE FOUNTAIN THEATRE

by M.R. Hunter

Athol Fugard shows no sign of slowing down in his fifty years as a South African political playwright.

His latest play, inspired by a newspaper article of a South African mother who took her life and the lives of her three children by stepping in front of an oncoming train is a slight departure from his other works-immediately arresting and personal on a brooding, intimate scale.

At the very least, The Train Driver is Fugard's finest...

MR. AND MRS. MOUSE? DISNEYLAND, 1956
By Charles Phoenix

One of the three little pigs and Alice of Wonderland look on as the King and Queen of the Magic Kingdom meet and greet their subjects on Main Street. Minnie is sparkling with charm as usual. The little pig is very cute even if he does looks like a space alien. But Mickey seems to be having a bad day. He's as white as a ghost and looks like he just saw one, too.

Haunted HollywoodHAUNTED HOLLYWOOD SCAVENGER HUNT IS A SCREAM! by M.R. Hunter

The Eye Spy LA trio of terror ventured to Hollwood last Sunday to seek out Hollywood's haunted nooks and crannies and had to wade through a sea of singing zombies to get there. What were they singing? Amazing Grace. Why wouldn't they? It's Hollywood, baby...
