LAZY RIVER DAZE

LA RiverI was down by the river this week at the Sepulveda Dam and it was spectacular.  April showers bring May flowers, but not usually in L.A. - but this year they did.

You may be surprised to find our river isn't just a cemented over drainage ditch - not everywhere anyway. Check out some Eye Spy LA video footage here and a few photos here

This Saturday you can join the Friends of the Los Angeles River for the Annual Gran Limpieza - the Great L.A. River Clean Up.  They'll also be giving a special tour next weekend of the L.A. River in the San Fernando Valley.

The inimitable Charles Phoenix, L.A.'s "King of Kitsch," comedic sharer of all things retro Americana, and weekly contributor to Eye Spy LA, has a brand new show and it is in 3D! Go see Charles Phoenix and the Third Dimension Sunday (Mother's Day outing anyone?) and next Sunday at the Downtown Independent Theater.   Get the DETAILS

who writes all of those fantastic theatre reviews for Eye Spy LA is an active participant in the L.A. creative community. She has juggled multiple, successful careers as an actress, model, director and playwright. In between all of her "creative endeavors" - Michele worked at the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MOMA); where she found the inspiration to create what she does today.  Michele's artwork will be on display at the Belsito-Roche Fine Art Gallery in Long Beach. The opening reception is on May 8th.
