Astronauts have OUT OF THIS WORLD SKILLS:  I recently saw the IMAX HUBBLE 3D film at the California Science Center in Exposition Park.  The closest thing most of us will get to being an astronaut - GO.

FISH SKILLS: On June 5th & 6th Big Bear Lake will be hosting a $50k Trout Derby.  10 trout will have prize tags, one of which is for the big bucks.

RELEVANT AND RIVETING: A NOISE WITHIN "AWAKE AND SING" Review by M.R. Hunter

Awake and Sing It's been seventy-five years since Clifford Odets first introduced us to the Bergers of the Bronx-a Jewish American family snared in the vicious struggle of economic survival during the Great Depression and seeing them now it is as if we are meeting them for the first time.

From within the modest apartment on Longwood Avenue, painstakingly detailed by Michael C. Smith, all hell breaks loose as the hysteria of poverty pervades the family dynamic. Dinner conversations turn into daily reports of yet another recently evicted neighbor but this will not be their fate...not if the autocratic matriarch Bessie Berger (Deborah Strang) has anything to say about it...  Read the FULL REVIEW

EDITOR'S NOTE: Like many of the writing contributors to Eye Spy LA over the years, Michele is an active participant in the L.A. creative community. She has juggled multiple, successful careers as an actress, model, director and playwright. In between all of her "creative endeavors" - Michele worked at the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MOMA); where she found the inspiration to create what she does today.  Michele's artwork will be on display at the Belsito-Roche Fine Art Gallery in Long Beach. The opening reception is on May 8th.
