Dallas CASA has three great ways to help abused and neglected children find safe, permanent homes, and we need your help to spread the word. Check them out this weekend!

Parade of Playhouses Kickoff--Dallas CASA's signature event, Parade of Playhouses at NorthPark Center, starts tomorrow! This year, we have a record 20 playhouses on display for the 17-day event. On Aug. 21 at 4 p.m., winning raffle tickets will be drawn for 19 of the playhouses. In addition, we are auctioning a nautical-themed playhouse designed by LRO Residential. The auction winner also will be announced on Aug. 21.

Find information about both the raffle and auction, purchase raffle tickets and place your bid for the auction house online. Raffle tickets also may be purchased in person at NorthPark Center during normal business hours. Raffle tickets are $5 each or five for $20. Bidding for the auction house starts at $2,500.

Archon Interns Car Wash for CASA--Interns from the Archon Group will host a car wash for CASA this Friday, Aug. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church, 8202 Boedecker Drive in Dallas. Donate at least $10 and get a raffle ticket for Parade of Playhouses in addition to getting your car cleaned for a great cause.

Kid Friendly Events at Bookmarks--Dallas CASA has partnered with Bookmarks, A Dallas Public Library, to provide family-friendly activities periodically during the two-week Parade of Playhouses at NorthPark. Bookmarks will present Hearts for Japan, a chance for children to write letters to earthquake victims in Dallas' sister city of Sendai, Japan, on Aug. 6 and Aug. 13 in the North Court. On Aug. 6 at 2 p.m. children also will have a chance to learn about Japanese culture through a demonstration of Kabuki Theater. And on Aug. 13 at 2 p.m., Bookmarks will host Professor Brainius, who will give a presentation to help children understand the tsunami and earthquake which occurred in Japan earlier this year.

Help spread the word about these opportunities to help our children. Please forward this email to your friends and family, and ask them to support CASA kids through these unique events.

Thanks for all you do for our CASA children. We look forward to seeing you this weekend!

About Dallas CASA

Dallas CASA is a nonprofit organization of community volunteers who serve as voices in court for abused and neglected children. CASA volunteers are trained and supervised to advocate for the best interests of children
in protective care
and to make recommendations that help judges decide what is best for each child. A CASA volunteer is often the one constant during a frightening, uncertain time in a child's life.

In 2010, nearly 500 volunteers advocated for more than 1,300 abused and neglected children. Sadly, we are able to serve only one-third of the children in Dallas who need a CASA voice in court.

You can help. A child is waiting for your voice.
