Polly Barr if you're interested in gallery sitting, or need additional information about available dates. Gallery hours are noon to 4PM, Wednesday through Saturday, in addition to "First Thursdays at Tula" from 6-9PM.

(No experience necessary. The detailed Attendants Guide answers any questions you may have while tending the gallery.)

Photos must be matted, signed, titled, priced, and in clear sleeves. Current members are allowed 4 pieces each. Overall size with mat not to exceed 20X24. Must be checked-in with attendant.

Join APG members for an open critique session with Chip Simone. It's the perfect time to drop off your work for Jane Jackson, or to receive valuable feedback before the September 15th deadline!

APG invites you to participate in this upcoming exhibition juried by Jane Jackson

Jane Jackson would like to see new work from emerging and established artists created since 2010. She will look for a variety of styles, subjects and techniques to curate this dynamic show for APG!

Please submit 2 to 4 framed photos by September 15th.

Fall Line Press is participating in the Decatur Book Festival this weekend (August 31-September 2).

They'll have a booth set up to sell their
books, Free Falls, Bottom of da Boot and a few surprises. On Saturday, September 1st at 2:30, William Boling will speak on a panel discussion entitled "The Importance of the Small Press" with Bruce Covey of Coconut Books.

"Art in the Digital Culture... Threat or Opportunity?"

Wednesday, September 19th, 7:00PM
Hill Auditorium, High Museum of Art

In lieu of an APG-hosted Speaking of Photography, we are encouraging members to attend ACP & Lumière's final installment of their fall lecture series at the High.

Shannon Perich of the Smithsonian Institution and Irfan Essa of the Georgia Institute of Technology will each speak to the future of art in a rapidly expanding digital culture. The panel will address the threats and opportunities created by a growing range of capabilities to create, distribute and interact with art. Their commentary will be followed by a panel discussion with audience participation.

This program is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and must be reserved through the Woodruff Arts Center Box Office at 404-733-5000.

* Timothy McCoy has been awarded Honorable Mention in The Photo Review 2012 Competition for images from his latest portfolio of 16x20 inch albumen prints "Last Exit" will be included in an exhibition at the Philadelphia University of the Arts Gallery 1401; and  it, along with "In the Beginning," will be published in the Competition issue of The Photo Review and on its website. The competition was juried by Peter Barberie, Curator of Photography, Philadelphia Museum of Art.

* In addition, Willard Pate won fourth place in the same competition.
