About Us
Photo courtesy of Chip Simone APG's primary goal is to promote and support contemporary photography as a significant art form. It seeks to challenge photographic conventions, stimulate new thinking and exploration of experimental forms of photographic expression. These goals are supported through a wide range of activities that are overseen by a Board of Directors, an Advisory Board and a Curatorial Panel drawn from the Atlanta photographic community. The Atlanta Photography Group (APG) is an artist-initiated 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership organization. |
About Us
Thank your customer, tell them how valuable they are to you, but don't go overboard. Insincerity is easy to spot. |

Lisa Tuttle with Fulton County Arts gave an inspiring talk to members at APG last week. If you missed it, she spoke about the vast opportunities for photographers to create both temporary and permanent installation projects for public venues such as libraries, airports, community centers and much more.
She highly recommended The Artist's Guide to Public Art: How to Find and Win Commissions written by Lynn Basa. Lisa also shared a list of resources for printing work on various media.** Briana Camelo, who manages the Fulton County Public Art Registry, encouraged everyone with interest to register for the Artist Registry Program which is a pre-qualified pool of visual artists eligible to be considered for public art projects funded through the Fulton County Public Art Program. This is open to full time residents of Georgia.
Applications are reviewed twice a year. Submissions must be postmarked by October 14, 2012 for fall review. Briana also spoke about the Art Program Mentorship Program. This program gives artists the opportunity to work with an artist commissioned by Fulton County on a public art project. For more information go to http://www.FultonArts.org
**The following list of vendors and resources may also help with your visionary entries into OUTSIDE THE FRAME!

Work at Home Volunteer Opportunity
APG needs help with membership communications. We are seeking two or three individuals to work as a team in maintaining the membership database. Tasks include updating the database with new and renewing memberships, acknowledging new members, notify expiring members and correcting membership information. Experience with Microsoft XL spreadsheet preferred but not necessary for all tasks. Volunteers will be trained. Please contact Don Bryant for more information.
