A little bit about Tom...

"Tom Meiss has been doing photography since high school (some forty years ago).  As his passion was always for color photography, his interest and activity increased exponentially when digital reached the point that decent-sized enlargements from the computer "darkroom" became feasible and affordable, and he was no longer at the mercy of photo labs to get the color temperature and cropping right.

Over the last decade, Tom's photography has won numerous juried awards.  His work has been honored by being selected for the cover of the 2004 Atlanta Celebrates Photography Guide, and by being chosen to inaugurate the Atlanta Photography Group's Infocus gallery, showcasing the work of outstanding individual photographers."

You can see more of Tom's work on his website at www.tommeiss.com.

GALLERY ATTENDANTS NEEDED

The APG Gallery is looking for attendants for January, as well as the coming year. Being an attendant is a quick and easy way to be involved at APG and requires no prior gallery experience. The gallery maintains an attendant's guide that contains any information you need to know about gallery operations, simple instructions for photography sales, and bios on each of the photographers in the current exhibitions. Volunteer for one day per week, one day per month, or even once a year. Any amount of hours, no matter how small, are always appreciated, as APG relies solely on volunteer attendants to keep the gallery doors open. The gallery's regularly scheduled hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 12:00 - 4:00PM.

For January, attendants are needed on January 12,13,14,15, 20, 22, 26, 29. Also 6:00 - 9:00pm, Jan 6 (first Thursday).

If you would like to schedule further in advance, most dates are open Wednesday through Saturday, 12:00 - 4:00PM, throughout the year, with
the exception of 1st Wednesdays, 1st Saturdays and 4th Thursdays.

Evening attendants are also needed 6:00 - 9:00PM on the first Thursday
of each month and occasionally to open our gallery to correspond with
MOCA events.

To volunteer, please email Polly Barr.
