What We Did On Our Summer Vacation

We've been busy and we are most thankful to you for keeping us so.  We created a new page on our web site to share the projects we are currently working on. Check it out.

agricultures lasting heritageOne of our very favorite projects has been working with the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture on the Agriculture's Lasting Heritage  project profiling century farms and farmers across the United States.  So far we've been to Kansas, Nebraska and New York with plans to head to Illinois and Iowa in the coming weeks.  Check out this newly launched web site and video profiles. Kudos to the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture for spotlighting these great American farmers.

What Is a QR Code and Do You Need One?

TMPQR Do you already have a great web site, but are looking for creative (and cheap) ways to bring more visitors to your site?  Do you know what that black and white code is (at right)?  It's a QR code, which is short for Quick Response.  It's a unique solution to speed up the contact process by taking advantage of the ever present smart phones people carry today.

So how can you use it to your benefit?  Simply add your unique QR code to your print materials (hint: think business cards, brochures, advertisements, or even trade show booths).  WHY you might ask?  Well, a QR reader is a free app for smart phones, which allows users to simply snap a picture of your QR code, and quickly get in touch with you.  How they reach you is up to you; you can store a vcard, contact info, or a URL to your home page or promotional page on your site.

So how do I get one?  For iPhone we recommend QR Reader. For Android we recommend: QR Droid.

Once you have the app on your phone, you can create QR codes for your company or profile, and of course read others' QR codes too.

If you'd like help integrating your new QR codes in your print materials, we hope you call TMP at 352-821-0774.

Fun fact:  According to Nielsen , 1 in 2 Americans will have a smartphone by Christmas 2011

A Resource to Add to Your Rolodex

The Market Place was recently introduced to property rights & natural resources researcher Julie Kay Smithson of rural Ohio. Thanks to a federal agency's abuse of the Endangered Species Act and its plan to decimate 200 years and over 222,000 acres of responsible farming, Julie left her 27-year career in 1999. Today, paid subscribers receive important information that has been not only researched, but also verified, enhanced with all possible contact information, agency definitions, case law summaries, helpful links, and arrives in inboxes in an easy-to-read format. Describing herself as "an ordinary woman with extraordinary opportunities to make a positive difference in the lives of others," Julie may be reached at propertyrights@earthlink.net or 740-857-1239. Her website is http://www.propertyrightsresearch.org.  She also writes articles and editorials and submits public comments on many federal agency proposals.

Useless App Review

But it's Free and It's Fun

songifySo there are useful apps, cool apps, free apps, kid apps, and then useless apps.  Most of the time the useless apps are the most fun and such is the case with Songify. But since we are in the creative business, we thought we'd try to find a way to make it useful because it is so dog-gone fun.  Songify by Khush, Inc is free.  We used it to make a TMP jingle.   Hope you like it.
