 | MEATingful Monday's instead of Meatless Mondays
|  The Market Place took on a project of its own recently in defense of the meat industry. In light of recent attention regarding Meatless Monday's sweeping through schools and college campuses, TMP decided to have a little fun (and perhaps bring a bit of attention) as they created two tongue-in-cheek t-shirts. The "Have a MEATingful Monday" shirts, (beef and pork designs), have received positive responses from the ag community. The shirts are available online at, where else, www.MEATingfulMonday.com.

| Lights, Camera, Action - See You at the Fair

It's fair season, at least in Florida, and there isn't much that we like more. Great kids, top-notch animals and amazing volunteers. And we'll be there to capture it all on camera.
For the second year, The Market Place will be taping the steer and swine show for the Southeastern Youth Fair in Ocala and the Central Florida Fair in Orlando. New this year, we will be adding the lamb show.

- Oprah recently aired an episode about her entire staff going Vegan for a week. Kudos to Cargill's Ft. Morgan, Colorado facility for opening their doors and to the great job that General Manager, Nichole Johnson-Hoffmann did at telling the story. Click here to watch the video.
- The University of Florida, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences has been granted a transfer quota of 886 for 2011-2012 admissions This compares to 700 in 2010-2011. And, they would like to use every one of those spots! - Congrats to our client Everglades Seasoning for integrating the marketing promotion Groupon. They worked with Groupon, to offer a special to the Lakeland, Florida area cross-promoting it with their online shopping cart and their enewsletter. Now that's a "seasoned" marketer.
- Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently revealed that Facebook had acquired FB.com from the American Farm Bureau Federation. "At their annual meeting in Atlanta, Farm Bureau officials said the organization earned $8.5 million by selling a couple of domain names but is barred from identifying the buyer."
