Is It Time to Switch Your Browser?

tn ffa officers

If you use Internet Explorer, then The Market Place says, "YES!"  Many people rarely give a thought to how they surf the internet; they just look for the blue "e" on their desktop and surf away.  But now may be the best time for users of IE, to step outside their comfort zone and make the switch to a MODERN BROWSER, such as Firefox, by Mozilla, and Chrome, by Google.  Why switch and why now?  Two reasons mainly!  First, Microsoft is simply not adopting the modern web standards that enable web designers to create new, dynamic, engaging content, so that means users of IE are missing out on the best the web has to offer.  See the above graphic that shows how IE users miss out on some of the great new features available in HTML5.  What is HTML5?  Stay tuned, we'll cover that in another issue later this year. Click here to see more stats on the new features and how each browser adds-up.  The second reason that now is a great time to make the switch to Firefox or Chrome, is that developers have really embraced the extensibility of both these browsers.  That means you can add-on custom features to your browser, which change the way it looks or functions, based on your web surfing preferences.  For example if you want to be able to take a screen shot of a particular section of a web site, write on it, and send it to someone, there's an add-on for that!  Or if you want to open PDFs in your browser window, instead of downloading and then searching for it later... YEP, there's an extension for that!  Lastly, here's a bonus reason:  Both Firefox and Chrome will make it easy for you to switch- they will ask you if you want to import all your bookmarks and saved passwords etc... so... WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

TMP and TENNESSEE FFA

tn ffa In March The Market Place was proud to serve as the Trade Show Coordinators for the 2010 Tennessee FFA Convention. While meeting our goal of increasing show participation and overall revenue we were able to meet some wonderful folks from Tennessee, even if we did have to hear Rocky Top played several times.  We look forward to seeing you all back in Gatlinburg again next year.

For the sixth year, TMP will also be coordinating the Florida FFA Association with their trade this summer.  If you are interested in exhibiting you can register online.

Need help with your summer conference or show?  We can help you with the ad design of your program, online registration, pre-convention services, on site coordinator, signage and more.
