masonsmoakfoundation     floridalawn

The Mason G. Smoak Foundation site went live on Friday, May 15, 2009 just in time for the kickoff event for the Foundation, the Eric Church concert in Tampa.  Smoak, a citrus grower and true humanitarian, inspired many in his short time and his family and friends have established a Foundation in his honor to continue his good work.

The Florida Sod Growers Cooperative launched their new site, FloridaLawn.com, as a part of their recent consumer campaign.  The site contains a three step sprinkler check, cost saving strategies, lawn watering tips and more.
TMP to Design Free Web Site during the Extreme Web Makeover!
extremeimageDoes your Web site need an Extreme Makeover?    Do you have broken links, an infestation of dancing icons or perhaps a site that you've outgrown?

Well, you are in luck.  The Design Team of The Market Place (TMP) is currently taking applications for an  Extreme Web Makeover.  TMP, a marketing and communications firm that specializes in agricultural web design and video production, along with a host of other marketing services works almost exclusively with agricultural businesses in Florida and the Southeast.

"Agriculture is in our blood, we are excited everyday to help the farmers, ranchers and commodity groups within American agriculture tell their story," said Erin Freel Best, President of The Market Place.  "Times are tough right now and we believe in the motto of sharing the talents you have been given.  This is something we can do to help give back and hopefully give an organization a kickstart."

The first recipient of the TMP Extreme Web Site Makeover is the Southeastern Youth Fair (SEYF) in Marion County.  It was selected as the inaugural recipient because of its history with TMP. Future recipients will be chosen based on their online application submitted through the TMP web site.  The fair is one of the longest running fairs in the state of Florida and both Erin Best, President of TMP, and Joel Bockoras, Vice President of Operations grew up showing animals and exhibits at the fair.

"I have fond memories of the SEYF and I gained some great leadership skills from my decade of showing at the fair.  It's very satisfying to be able to give something back to this organization," Joel said.

In addition to a free design and development of their site, TMP will host their site for free for one year. Businesses or organizations wishing to apply for the TMP Extreme Web Site Makeover can go to The Market Place website to review criteria and complete an application.

The application process will be open through July 31, 2009 and the recipient will be notified by mid-August.
