Help Save 14 Horses
Over the weekend Whispering Hearts Horse Rescue rescued 14 starving horses. They desperately need your help to care for these animals.
There were 14 in all, many ready to have foals and so emaciated. This is why I do what I do, what a sin!!!!
We are looking for monetary donations or feed donations to bring these horse where they should be. They will need vet care, worming, fungal infection treatment, lice treatment and much feed. Our wish list is below:
mare and foal feed
sweet feed
high fat a fibre feed
wormers
fungal shampoo
dry kill lice treatment powder
We will need a lot of hay to keep these guys going as they haven't stopped eating since they arrived on Saturday.

Equine Niagara News is also collecting donations for delivery to Whispering Hearts in Hagersville. If you would like to make a contribution please deliver to Saturn Stables, 2783 Oille St., St. Catharines, ON L2R 6P7 no later than 10 am, Saturday, September 5th. We will be leaving by noon for Hagersville.

Welcome To The Fall Fair Special Edition of Equine Niagara News
I apologize this has been put together rather hastily. That being said, however, I believe you will find all the links and information you need pertaining to dates and the horse shows here. The Royal is covered fairly limited as it will be featured in an upcoming issue of Equine Niagara News on it's own - I'm sure.
The biggest news I think is the addition of the Can Am Wind Rider Challenge, presented by Welland Toyota to the Welland Fair. There is a lot of talk about the Challenge, and by the sounds of things many are gearing up to compete in this unique all-breed show.

The Smithville Fall Fair opens its gates for the 132nd time at 4:00pm on Thursday, September 3, 2009. The 152nd edition of the Lincoln County Fair will be happening in Beamsville at the Fair grounds September 11 to the 13, 2009. Both Saturday and Sunday will be filled with Horse Shows running all day long and into the early evening.

From September 17th to the 20th, the Niagara Regional Exhibition show grounds will come to life with a world-wind of activity including everything from the Conklin World's Finest Rides, the daring motorcyclists of The Globe of Death, serpentarium and exotic animal displays, mad science and lets not forget the Battle of the Bands with the Juno Award-Winning band "The Stampeders" . Much work has gone into this year's events to bring one of the best fall fairs ever for 2009. But more to the point for our readers here at Equine Niagara News is information on the horse shows at the fair:

 Royal Winter Fair
November 6 -15th
The Royal Horse Show consists of ten full days of equestrian talent and competition. Visitors to The Royal can watch competitions taking place in the Ricoh Coliseum daily, witness coaching and warm-up drills in the Horse Palace ring, or take a leisurely stroll for a glimpse at preparation behind the scenes in the Horse Barns. There are 11 exciting and different reserved seat Royal Horse Show performances.
A Horse Show ticket also includes full General Admission which represents excellent value for a full day at The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
