Tap Dance Conservatory

 

The ATDF's Tap Conservatory is a year-round school for tap dance with a comprehensive curriculum for kids, teens and adults. (Beginning Level to the Advanced Professional)

 

This season, we are gearing up to offer even more classes, more teachers, and more rhythms! Please join us for the following programs and events.

OPEN HOUSES FOR KIDS AND ADULTS  

 

ATDF Youth Program, for children and teens, teach students about America's own indigenous art form - Tap. Our distinguished faculty shares their artistry and history of tap with each student in a fun, safe and supportive environment.

MASTER TAP INTENSIVES


ATDF Master Tap Intensives give advanced students a chance to work with master teachers and choreographers in the field. Students experience first hand the choreographic process and creation of original material that are often presented in future productions produced by the ATDF.

"Making Dances"
 
ATDF 

A (3) Day Tap Intensive led by master teacher and choreographer Brenda Bufalino, assisted by pianist Vladimir Katz.

 

This is your opportunity to develop your own unique vision with the direction and assistance of a master teacher and choreographer and a live accompanist/arranger.  All participants are invited to bring in material that they have been working on for further development and may have an opportunity to perform it in an evening Studio Presentation.  Structured improvisation created by Ms. Bufalino during the intensive weekend will also be presented.

Each trimester (3 months) a choreographer teaches a work of tap repertory. Students will work on personal style while developing a solid foundation in tap material handed down to us from past masters of the form. No drop-ins allowed, students must register for the trimester.  Students in this Repertory course must also attend one of our weekly Advanced Beginning tap technique classes or the new Rudiments class.

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

The Tap City Youth Ensemble is performing in teh 83rd annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade & performing at Herald Square in front of the NBC cameras! 
 

The ensemble was chosen by audition/application to perform "Izzici", a South African gum boot dance, originally choreographed by Molutsi Mogami.
