Greetings!
Tina Gleisner and Dennis Turmel
It's hard to believe Thanksgiving is here already. We're planning a long weekend so we can spend time with family traveling to our house for the traditional feast. The best part is Tina's son Ryan will be home from the Navy for a week.

The holidays are the time of year when we cook, bake, eat and entertain. Most often, the kitchen is where everyone gathers, so this month we will share tips for the kitchen.

People are staying in their homes longer so we've got ideas for decorating your kitchen in ways you can enjoy all year long. Maybe you love to cook or bake and there's never enough room in the kitchen. We've got some tips on how to organize your kitchen to make things easier to access.

There are only a few weeks left to take advantage of the federal energy tax credits that expire at the end of the year (tax credit details). We also found an article on saving energy that explains a new, SmartStrip to reduce your electric bill.

From our homes to you, we wish you and your families the best holiday ever. We realize it's been another challenging year for many people and hope we can still see how bountiful our lives are in the U.S. compared to many other parts of the world. Indeed, we have a lot to be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Tina and Dennis

energy saving power stripEnergy Vampires: Find and Tame Them

Many electronic devices continue to draw power when they're turned off. Some of these are intentional, i.e. your television remote will only work if there's power in the television to receive signals. Unfortunately this standby power wastes a tremendous amount of energy: roughly 68 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity is wasted every year. That is equivalent to the electricity generated by 37 power plants which then release over 97 billion pounds of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.  Learn more about how you can reduce your electric bill at home ...

We appreciate your business and enjoy being more than your average handyman!
