Bill Sterrett, President of Roanoke described that "Roanoke has been doing business with the Watkins Syndicate since the early 1990's. We have always had an excellent relationship, and the years we have spent working together have made apparent that the synergies between the two organizations are significant. Both parties view this as a positive move that will enhance services for Roanoke's existing and future clients, and shape greater career opportunities for Roanoke's team. This merger will allow us to expand our surety and insurance products to the international trade community and take advantage of the many products and skills offered by Munich Re and the Watkins Syndicate."

Mark Watkins, CEO of Munich Re Holding Company (UK) Limited, whose subsidiaries manage the Watkins Syndicate and related service companies said, "Roanoke will enable Watkins and its network to further diversify its portfolio of business in the United States. Roanoke is a perfect fit for us. We can now offer our products directly in the U.S. through Roanoke's extensive network, and draw upon their team's outstanding service capabilities and expertise. It further expands our ability to support our clients globally."
