Mitzvah Mania 2009

On Sunday, November 1, 2009, our Greater Philadelphia Jewish community volunteers will provide nourishment to the hungry, distribute clothes to low income families, winterize homes for older adults, clean-up neighborhood parks and participate in other mitzvot - the Hebrew word for good deeds.

Join these men, women and children for Mitzvah Mania '09 and help them to transform communities and change lives. The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is sponsoring this 3rd annual social action event, chaired by Lana and Bernie Dishler, Jackie Needleman and David Cohen and Simi Kaplin Baer and Marc Baer. These three couples invite interested individuals, families and organizations to mark their calendars and make time to volunteer on November 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteer at the JCCs Klein Branch, Red Lion Road and Jamison Street, in Northeast Philadelphia; the JCC Stiffel Senior Center, Marshall and Porter Streets, in South Philadelphia; JCC Kaiserman, 45 Haverford Road in Wynnewood; Morris Park, 6900 Sherwood Road in Overbrook Park; and at synagogues and other sites throughout the Greater Philadelphia area.
