United Hatzalah Newsletter - Saving the Saviors
Dear Friends and Supporters,
This week we look at the concept of saving the lifesavers by paying tribute to our dear Philly friends at the JFGP. Living proof of this idea came in the form of a dramatic rescue by a United Hatzalah medic who, he himself, was once in need of a dramatic rescue.
To wrap it up we look at a tireless medic who educated our brave soldiers how they can save perhaps even their own lives while they are protecting the lives of all of us.
To our US friends have a great Labor Day Weekend,
Eli Beer

Readiness and Philadelphia
In Israel we can only take lulls in attacks as time to increase preparedness. We have teams evaluating lessons to be learned from attacks in the North and the South. One of the key lessons we learned is "Take care of those who take care of others". At the most basic level that means to protect the volunteers from the dangers that they respond to.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia (JFGP) has been a supporter of United Hatzalah for many years and over many projects. We salute the JFGP for recognizing this need to "Take care of those who take care of others" and have dedicated another 5 sets of personal armor to our volunteer first responders.
We salute the co-chairs of the Center for Israel and Overseas of Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, Cindy Smukler Dorani and I Michael Coslov for their vision and leadership.
The appreciation was summed up quite succinctly by Nachi Klein from Tzefat when he told us that when he put on his personal armor when the air raid sirens are blaring he felt protected by the "Kevlar hug of brotherhood".
