My word for the month is LEAN.  What is your first thought when you think about the word lean?  Is it to be healthy, to love how you fit into your favorite jeans, to feel strong, to eat organic, to be on a budget?  Whatever your definition of lean is, I can efficiently assist you with your health and wellness goals.

How can Myofascial Release and Pilates help you live lean?  Utilizing Myofascial Release I can realign imbalances in your body, release tissue restrictions and inflexibility and bring more of your awareness into your body.  Specific exercises from the Pilates repertoire can then be selected unique for YOUR body to strengthen, lengthen and enhance the Myofascial Release work we have done together.  I then teach you "homework" for you to practice on your own to continue your ongoing progress towards LEAN!

 

Studies have show that a body with more muscle mass burns more calories even at rest.  Strength training also builds core stability, prevents osteoporosis and facilitates upright, correct posture.  Why is Pilates great for building strength?  Pilates is a WHOLE body method of training.  Each exercise, while may be targeting certain muscle groups, still focuses on fluid, whole body workouts.  Contrast in your mind a dancer's body as compared to a weight lifter's body.   Pilates strengthens AND lengthens the body.   

 

How will working with me allow you to live more lean?  Many of us are short on time. I can feel and see where you are tight, weak, have structural and muscular imbalances.  Individual programs designed by me will target your weakness and imbalances.  This type of program design will address multiple areas of the body, save you time and work exactly what areas that need the most attention.  Your sessions  are precise and designed specifically for YOU!   

 

My space we work in is private, quiet and allows you clear focus without distractions from the outside world.  How often do you allow yourself 30-60 minutes of uninterrupted focus on YOU?  Quite, centered focus combined with movement awareness allows cortisol productions to be decrease.  Cortisol is the primary contributing chemical in the body resulting in "belly fat".  What a combination for a LEANER YOU!
