Alberta SCI Pressure Relief Fund

Applications are now being accepted for the Alberta SCI Pressure Relief Device Fund.  Albertans with spinal cord injuries can apply for up to $5,000 for pressure relief devices not covered by AADL or NIHB. Application deadline is June 15, 2011.

Emergency Preparedness Week

May 1-7 is Emergency Preparedness Week, and theGovernment of Alberta is encouraging all Albertans to visit the Alberta Emergency Management Agency

website for advice on making their own 72-hour emergency kit and a family emergency plan. All Albertans should have a kit that will keep them and their family safe during the initial stages of a disaster for up to 72-hours. This will allow

emergency responders time to assist the most critically injured or affected people first. Preassembled kits can be purchased, or you can build your own.
Suggested items include:

food and water; bedding and clothing; lights, candles and batteries; and,

toiletries, medication and important documents

A complete list can be found at www.aema.alberta.ca
