This past week I mailed to all of the Churches, in the name of the pastor, a packet containing the following items:
- The New SOYO Leadership Manual on DVD
- The new flier for Teen SOYO's "Good Samaritan Project"
- The Bible Bowl and Oratorical Fliers
- A return envelop for your SOYO Special Olympics Contribution

 SOYO Leadership Manual DVD
I have sent to each pastor three Computer Data DVDs containing the files that were printed in the SOYO Leadership Manual given to each Diocesan and NAC SOYO Officer at Leadership Training. Also included is the updated SOYO Directory and photos from the 2010 SOYO Leadership Conference.

- A Copy for your Teen President
- A Copy for your Teen Advisor
Please ensure they each receive their copy.
The Archdiocese Board of Trustees Members will each receive their copy at the meeting in Jacksonville.

 Orthodox Christian Coalition for Healthy Youth - OCCHY
We have recently launched our website concerning our efforts to reduce substance use and abuse in our youth population. Please check it out and pass this information on to the faithful members of your parish. We are in the process of seeking funds to continue our Archdiocesan effort in this area - so please encourage those who can to consider donating to this worthy cause.  SOYO Good Samaritan Project
Included in the mailing to the parishes this week is the Good Samaritan flier describing SOYOs effort and request to each parish to highlight the outreach - charitable work the teens are doing. Please ensure that this pamphelt reaches your teens, please make space available to them in a prominent place for them to display their good works, so they and others may be inspired to do more.
Again, the Archdiocesan Board Members will receive their copy at the Board Meeting.

 Special Olympics Awareness Day
We asked each parish to take a collection this past Sunday October 17th for the 2011 SOYO Special Olympics Sports Camp. This past year our teens spent in excess of $50,000 to host this one week Sports Training Camp for the Special Olympic Athletes of Pennsylvania. For the past 30 years our teens have ministered to these athletes and over those years have contributed over $1,000,000 to this cause. We ask that your parish send in all of the money collected and if you did not take the collection we ask that you do so in the next week or so - or that you make a special donation to this effort. Last year we collected $42,295, The Order of St Ignatius provided another $8,000. This year we hope to raise the needed $52,000. Help our teens reach their goal!
