Where to pin groomsmen's flowers

If you're wondering where to pin the groomsmen's flowers, you're not alone. Brennen at Albuquerque Florists says that boutonnières should be pinned on the left lapel and exact placement depends on the style of lapel. Easier than you thought, wasn't it!

Who gets the first piece of the groom's cake?

wedding cake

Question: Who gets the first piece of the groom's cake and when is it cut?

Answer: The groom should serve the first piece to the brides' maid with a glass of wine. Legend is that the unmarried female guest will receive a slice of the groom's cake that will be taken home and placed under their pillow. And that night they will dream of George Clooney - or whoever their future husband will be!

Choosing your officiant

Having your wedding and reception in one place makes things easier on your dream day. But what about having someone come in to officiate who isn't a vendor of the facility. This is your day and having the freedom to choose the officiant you want is an important consideration. It would definitely depend on where you reserve the ceremony and reception. At Sandia Resort, for example, they do not have any special rules for the person conducting the ceremony and many facilities do not provide that service, however, many reception sites can refer people that they have worked with in the past if needed.

Ways to limit your reception bill without looking cheap

bottles

Is there any way to cut people off of food and drinks without looking cheap? Absolutely! Most reception sites will have a designated time for the cocktail hour and dinner hour and once those are over the food is taken away. One of the best ways to offer drinks is to host them for a designated period of time. You may also put a cap on how much you would like to host the bar and after that cap is reached the bar becomes a cash bar.
