Silicon-IP, Inc. launched this year.  The company is now recognized as the first and only independent company providing IP sourcing services for SoC chip companies.  We support your existing IP managers or perform the entire management operations.  Silicon-IP is a company of SoC-IP experts that fabless and fab-lite chip companies hire as on demand agents for technical & quality due diligence and license negotiation.  

Our company mission is to improve the SoC-IP buying & selling procedure.  To accomplish this, we implement industry best practices through our hands-on, project-specific attention to client requirements.

Silicon-IP interest aligns with the success of 
semiconductor chip companies. We are not brokers, do not re-sell IP, and are not an IP Rep firm. For each SoC project we use product specs and design team requirements to provide a best fit ranking of all available IP.  Silicon-IP is paid by the SoC company, we are not paid by IP companies so deliverables are free from conflicts of interest.  Only the IP best matched to the overall project requirements are ranked highest.
Silicon-IP is a team of experts in Foundry IP business & technical management, SoC-IP due diligence, and industry best practices for SoC-IP integration.  We augment our core team with application-specific experts to match the target market of the client's SoC.

ARM TechCon - Chip Design Conference

Our first Exhibit booth - a rite of passage - was at the GSA Expo 2010. This was a great way to listen to many issues burdening SoC design teams. Application-specific IP 

SoC device specifications are built for specific markets. Projects typically go over budget because engineering teams must compensate for using general purpose IP.  However, IP providers with application expertise specific to the target markets of the SoC enhance engineering team capabilities. A documented and repeatable methodology of industry best practices is necessary to confidently find and evaluate small, but best-in-class providers or large providers with a lower total cost of ownership.
