I'd like to welcome all the new subscribers who have signed up for this newsletter and welcome back existing subscribers and raw food enthusiasts.  Our community is growing larger and larger by the day...and I'm just delighted about that.

Remember, there's more information and 'fellowship' to be had on my website and on my new Facebook fan page at www.facebook.com/rawfoodmadeeasy.

If you click on the link and 'like' my page, you'll get a free green smoothie ebook.  It contains 10 of my favorite recipes, including a delicious Peachy-Apple Green Smoothie that takes advantage of end of summer and early fall fruits.  Delish!

The Best Birthday Cake Ever

It's fun to throw you own birthday party, and the best way I know to make it easy is to serve a menu of raw food delights.  It's super-quick to create a lavish spread with tasty appetizers and dips, crunchy salads, and flavorful entrees and side dishes.

Of course, a birthday isn't a birthday without a cake.  Whipping up a raw food cake couldn't be more simple and when you use all-natural ingredients, you can be sure that all your guests - even those who are lactose-intolerant, gluten-free, or just plain health conscious - can enjoy what you serve.

I really like to serve the Chocolate Cake with Fudge Frosting that you'll find in my book Raw For Dessert.

My Chocolate Ganache is the icing on this cake.  It's made with cocoa powder rather than melted chocolate, and instead of relying on butter, cream, or refined sugar, it's made with virgin coconut oil and agave syrup.  It is so fudgy delicious, you may find yourself eating it straight from the bowl with a spoon!

The Secret to Sushi

Do you like the idea of sushi, but are a little squeamish when it comes to the idea of eating raw fish?  You're in luck!  My vegetarian California Rolls are light and perfect for summer meals...and there's no fish required.

Rolling sushi takes a bit of skill, but practice makes perfect.  And I've got a sushi chef's secret for you:  using a bamboo sushi mat makes the process super easy.

This newsletter will be back next month, but I hope we'll be in touch before then.  I especially hope you'll add your thoughts and join the raw food conversation on my blog and elsewhere on my web site.

See you there!
