Hot Off the Presses!

I'm bursting-a-button proud to announce the new edition of Raw Food Made Easy for 1 or 2 People - bigger and better than ever!  The book is coming out August 1, but I'm sharing an advance 'taste' with you and other subscribers to my newsletter.  (You can also pre-order your copy today)
.

The best part about creating a 'sequel' to my original best-selling book is that it's given me an opportunity to add even more useful material to excite people about the pleasures of going raw.  I've continued to offer tasty meals, snacks, and desserts made with basic equipment and everyday ingredients, of course, but I've expanded the original to now include

*    Over 100 foolproof recipes, along with lunch and dinner menu plans
*    Easy recipes that call for common ingredients and basic equipment
*    Instructions for creating delicious green smoothies
*    Expanded sections on raw snacks, salads, and salad dressings
*    More breakfast, lunch, and dinner options
*    Tips for avoiding white sugar, white flour, and trans-fats
*    Ideas for transforming traditional favorite recipes into nutritious treats made with all-natural ingredients.
*    Strategies for enjoying Raw on the Go,  whether you're traveling for business or pleasure
*    Calorie and nutritional information so cooks can satisfy their interest along with their appetite.

When it comes to 'fast food,' nothing comes together more quickly (and easily) than green smoothies...so I've devoted an entire new section to this topic.

Smoothies are creamy and satisfying drinks are made from fresh fruits, leafy greens, and water. They pack a nutritional wallop along with outstanding flavor because dark green vegetables are concentrated sources of protein, minerals, and phytonutrients. These drinks have become quite popular, but they still are not easy to find in juice bars or coffee shops.

Fortunately, you can make them yourself and a great place to start is with my Chocolate Green Smoothie.  In this kid-friendly (and kid-at-heart-friendly) smoothie, chocolate conceals the color and taste of spinach.  The result is a nutritious beverage that can be enjoyed as a meal or snack.

Raw Food Fit For A King
Many people have fond memories of cooking with their mothers, but at the Cornbleet house, it was my father who was the Kitchen King.  Dad was not a raw foodie, but he had a tremendous appreciation for quality ingredients and loved fresh fruits and vegetables.  He inspired me with his cooking skills and his creativity.

My dad has a hearty laugh and a hearty appetite.  So when I began a vegetarian and later a vegan, it was important to me to be able to create dishes that I knew he would find satisfying. One Dad-friendly recipe in the new edition of Raw Food Made Easy for 1 or 2 People, is Pasta Avocado.

Pasta and avocado may sound like an odd pairing, but they work surprisingly well together.  The avocado forms a creamy Alfredo-like sauce that clings beautifully to fettuccine-like ribbons of zucchini.  But the 'secret' to this ingredient is garlic and minced jalapeno which add an unexpected kick.

The easiest way to create zucchini pasta is with a spiral slicer.  But if you don't have one, a vegetable peeler can be used to create long, delicate ribbons of zucchini.  Just draw the peeler down all sides of the vegetable until you reach the core.  Simple!

My dad inspires me to create robust, nutritious dishes that can bring families together at the dinner table to celebrate life with food that is delicious and supports good health.  I want my father - and YOU -- to be around for a long, long time!

 Raw Videos Class of 2012
Like the recipes in the new version of Raw Food Made Easy for 1 or 2 People, my YouTube Channel cooking videos focus on getting you in and out of the kitchen fast.  Each dish is designed to be quick and easy, and I demonstrate the important techniques that can turn even the most humble cook into a super-star raw food chef...and a healthy one, too.

There's a world of difference between reading a recipe and watching a dish come together right before your eyes.  My videos bring raw food prep to life, showing you step-by-step just how easy it is to create incomparable dishes in a matter of minutes.  And since my videos are shot in real-time, it feels like we're cooking side by side in the kitchen.

But wait!  There's more in store for you...

Over the past several months, I've been working on a new crop of videos...what I call the 'Class of 2012.'  I'm putting the finishing touches on them now and will 'premiere' a new recipe every week starting at the end of August, including some new and old favorites from the expanded version of Raw Food Made Easy for 1 or 2 People:

*    Citrus Sunshine Juice - a tasty blend of orange, grapefruit, and lemon juice

*    Ramen Soup - the traditional and wonderfully comforting soup from Japan.

*    Tropical Fruit Tart - a gourmet raw fruit tart that's much easier to prepare than the traditional baked version

*    Chocolate Candy - made without unhealthy, addictive corn syrup, trans-fats, or preservatives

*    Snacks on the Go - healthy snacks that will keep you from getting overly hungry and making bad choices at mealtimes

That's just a sample of the more than two dozen new demonstration videos I've created.  I think you'll love them all.

And, by the way, if you haven't visited my video library yet, a great place to start is with my most popular video ever Zucchini Noodles Marinara.  It's a richly satisfying dish that replaces refined white flour noodles with supple ribbons of delicately flavored summer squash.

It's delicious!

That's it for now.  I've already got some great ideas for things to share with you in July, so be sure to keep your eye out for my next newsletter.
