MEC to Host a Celebration of Environmental Education Sept. 22 

Join ACEE at Mountain Equipment Co-op in Calgary at 7pm, Thursday September 22 for a celebration of environmental education! We'll launch the new Encana Environmental Education Resource Centre, brief you on other elements of ACEE's work to advance environmental education, and give you a chance to enjoy some light fare as you get to know your fellow environmental educators.

Why are we doing this at MEC? Well, from 7-9pm all environmental educators receive a 10% discount on all regularly priced items (5% on boats) at the store!

Engaging Students in the Outdoors  

A Conference for Educators

Join teachers and other educators for a day of learning and outdoor experience at the Fish Creek Environmental Learning Centre in Calgary, Saturday October 1. You will leave with practical ideas and skills you can apply to your work Monday morning!

 

This one day conference is organized by the Global Environmental and Outdoor Education Council of the Alberta Teacher's Association, the Alberta Council for Environmental Education, and Alberta Parks.

The Benefits of Cycling -  Bulbs and Pedals 

The Tour de Nuit Society in Calgary is hosting a public talk September 7PM at the John Dutton Theatre entitled 'Bulbs and Pedals: How Calgary Can Learn from the Netherlands.' Hans Moor, Economic and Commercial Affairs Officer, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands will be delivering the presentation. The talk will discuss the economic effects of cycling on society and he will share success from the Netherlands and Ottawa. See more information
