Earth Hour - March 26 8:30
This hour is not meant to solve all the climate change proEarth Hour 2011 Official videoblems in one  hour, it is an inspirational spark that helps to bring our actions home. There are events planned around the world.

This year, the theme is: 'Go beyond the hour'. Participants are encouraged to make a commitment to change something in their daily lives.

See what is happening around the world and right here at in Canada. Both sites have ideas and resources to help you plan an event.

 What does it mean to align your work with your values? This weekend retreat in Kananaskis will explore trends in green jobs and social innovation. Explore ways to create your own meaningful work.

 

Canada Water Week  

 Water week logo March 14-22 is the inaugural Canada Water Week. The webpage has listings for events across the province, tools to help you put on your own event, and other great resources.  

  • March 22 is international World Water Day. Check out the events around world.
  • March 20 is World Storytelling Day and the theme this year is water. There are events taking place throughout March in Calgary and Edmonton.
 

Wacky Projects from Earth Day Canada 

Gardening ON a bicycle, growing an herb garden over the fish tank and a shoe re-design. These are just some of the innovative winners in the 2010 EcoAction challenge. Instructions and material lists are provided for each project so it is easy try them yourself!

The response of several schools to Nature Deficit Disorder: hold many -  or all! - of their classes outdoors!  A very interesting four minute long national news clip.
