Optimizing your Environmental Program and Moving learners to Action!

FREE OPPORTUNITY FOR TEACHER TEAMS
Our third annual Leadership Clinic is free
to all participants - we'll even pay teacher sub fees!

The Leadership Clinic is a transformative learning opportunity open to all groups that deliver environmental education in Alberta. We create a creative and inspiring working environment for you. This year, we'll meet at a relaxing retreat centre in Caroline, ACEE Leadership Clinic PhotographAB.

The Leadership Clinic is fully funded for all team participants upon successful completion of the application process. Deadline for applications is June 25th.

 
Learning our Way to the Next Alberta

Edmonton, All Day Symposium, June 2nd
 
The goal of these events is to raise awareness and advance public dialogue on the role of learning as a foundation for co-creating the next Alberta. The lectures will feature Climate Wars author and filmmaker Gwynne Dyer, physicist and author David Peat and Public Policy Researcher, UN and OECD Senior Advisor and literary expert, Scott Murray.
 
 
Green Stop is an Environment Week event organized by individuals, schools and community groups to educate, empower and engage other community members. You can do anything from workshops, displays, walks, talks, tours, clean-ups to hands on experiences with nature. Share the passion you have for nature with your community! Need ideas? Visit the Environment Week website and learn about events hosted last year.
 
 
Joseph Cornell has shared the message of love of nature with children of all ages all over the world for 30 years.  Joseph will be joined by nature educators who walk their talk, from animal assisted therapy, permaculture, biospheres, storytime, wild nature walks, and greening school yards. Come to a land where llamas give kisses, strawberries run wild and time does not exist! Lak'ech EcoLodge & Ranch, Pigeon Lake, Alberta.
 
 
Cows and Fish Indoor and Outdoor Training Sessions May - July 2010
Interested in learning more about riparian areas, riparian health and management? These sessions include grazing management application, advanced riparian systems, communications, presentation skills, working in and with communities, riparian and range health assesment and plant identification topics.  Details regarding registration, dates, locations and topics can be viewed on the website. 
 
 
School grounds can provide an engaging context for integrating science, literacy and music!  All participants will receive lesson plans, posters and other educational resources, as well as an outdoor classroom backpack filled with supplies and tools to facilitate investigations and greening projects.  To register contact Kathy Goble, School Ground Design Consultant at Evergreen. Students have until Monday, May 31st to tell SOI how they are environmental ambassadors and leaders in their school or community, and why they feel they would benefit from a trip to Canada's Arctic. Brita will let grant recipients know by July 9 if they should start packing their bags. The ship leaves harbour on August 4, 2010.
