Friday Night Tasting Lineup
2010 Botani Dry Muscatel
Organic Sierras de Malaga. Pale straw color. Fresh, fragrant and mature, brimming with the aroma of Muscat grape, apple, mandarin orange and a pinch of wilted flowers. On the palate it is fruity and dry, with notes of citrus and a gentle finish. We really like turning people on to this wine, which is fermented dry and made by Jorge Ordonez' sister Victoria, who also makes the Sherries for the Bodegas Jorge Ordonez. "Fragrant aromas of jasmine, honey, and tropical fruits inform the nose of this nicely proportioned, intense, savory, dry white. It is an outstanding value for drinking over the next 1-2 years." 91 Points - Jay Miller - Wine Advocate "Pale straw. Intensely perfumed bouquet of citrus pith, pear and anise, with alluring spiciness and chalky minerality. Vibrant lime, lemon and smoky mineral flavors expand and gain depth with air, picking up a sexy floral character. Finishes racy and pure, with lingering lime and floral character." 91 Points - Josh Raynolds - International Wine Cellar

2009 Kila Cava
A Best Values from the Wine Spectator: "Tightly wound and focused, offering subtle notes of fresh flowers, pear, dried fruit and spice. Fresh, with a moderate finish. Drink now." (12/11) According to Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Kila Cava displays a bit more grip and focus. Both vintages are excellent values for drinking over the next 12-18 months." (05/11) Nose: Fruity and fresh with green apple and lime aromas. Taste: Fresh clean green apple and citrus flavors up front with a touch of toast or cookie in the middle and a crisp clean finish, good as a starter or for apps.

2011 Borsao Rose
Light to medium bodied with pleasant red berry flavors, bright, crisp, acidity, and a medium long finish. This rosé from the Campo de Borja appellation of Aragón shows the fresh, nonchalant charms of the Garnacha variety made into a rosé: light and crisp crunchy red berry fruit flavors are balanced by a bright, crisp acidity that carries through in to the refreshing finish. "Strawberry-colored core, with orange suggestions at the edge; hints of orchard fruit on the nose. A burst of wild strawberries on the palate, with cherry essence emerging with time. Vibrant and persistent, this rosé displays a length I expect from a more expensive red wine. An absurd bargain, this rose can be enjoyed even at the dinner table - but I suspect a bottle opened during the afternoon will not last the hour. Buy this one by the case - you're bound to be reaching for the second bottle in no time."

2009 Wrongo Dongo
Bodegas Juan Gil - Jumilla. 87 Points - "sporting a new label but stylistically unchanged, the 2009 Wrong Dongo is 100% Monastrell produced from estate vineyards. Deep crimson colored with a pleasing nose of plum and blueberry, on the palate it has plenty of spicy fruit, an easy going personality and no hard edges." - wine review by The Wine Advocate, Issue 188. This Monastrell dominated wine shows a tartness in the nose, followed by plum meets cranberry flavors. There's some bramble & pepper. A hit with customers, and a great value in our eyes for big, ripe, Spanish reds. Tasty.
