Sparrow Hawk 2009 Chardonnay Russian River Valley
From Wine Exchange - "The grapes are crushed directly into barrels (50% new) where the wine is fermented and the fruit comes from two vineyards (Jewel and Williams Vineyards, parts of the Dutton Ranch) that are located in the coolest part of the appellation. The resulting wine has a lovely core of pear, green apple and citrus fruit, controlled presence up front and nicely integrated acidity, with a lovely honeyed element that pulls everything together. Delicious, refined, it tastes more expensive than it is." Wine Garage - (24.99) "This Chard was sourced from theDutton Ranch in Sonoma County. Fermented in 60% new French Oak and permitted to pass through malolactic, this wine provides aromas of tropical fruits such as pineapple, kiwi, guava, and rose petal . On the palate, pineapple upside down cake (I swear), azalea flowers, sandalwood, flint, caramel, and honeycomb. Very unique and yummy Chardonnay. It has brilliant acidity and minerality on the finish."

Sparrow Hawk 2009 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley
Duke of Bourbon - "also from the Dutton Ranch in the Russian River Valley, is a definite crowd-pleaser. Garnet in color, this impressive and seductive wine delivers classic aromas of dried cherries and strawberries with a touch of cherry-vanilla. A silky mouth feel envelops your palate and surrounds your taste buds with Bing cherries, strawberries, mushrooms and violets, with lingering tones of vanilla and toasted oak on the finish." Wine Garage (24.99) - This Pinot was sourced from the Dutton Ranch in Sonoma County. Fermented in 60% new French Oak, this wine can be described as "juicy". Very grapey and fruity, it has a lush, velvety mouth feel. Very smooth and rich. I get the classic strawberry/cherry on the nose, with a hint of spiciness. Medium garnet hue in the glass, the palate gushes cherry, strawberry, and raspberry with an underlying earthiness. Rosewater, start anise, smoke, truffle and leather come out in the mid-palate, then a smooth, long, rich finish with light tannin and ample acididty.

Sparrow Hawk Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma 2007
Wine Garage (23.99) - It has a sweet berry aroma, black pepper and black cherry on the palate, with a more earthy, leathery component. Duke of Bourbon - "Made by Philip Titus, who is the winemaker at Chappellet Winery. The wine consists of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, primarily from Sonoma Mountain, and a small lot of fruit from a dry-farmed Mayacamas Mountain vineyard. The remaining 16% is Malbec from the Sonoma side of Mount Veeder. Cinnamon and cocoa scents mingle with the aromas of black cherry, blackberry and toasty oak. Lush flavors of espresso with black and red fruits mingle with elegant tannins."
