2008 Woop Woop Chardonnay
Light, greenish straw. Orange, candied lemon, white flowers and a hint of lichee on the nose. Juicy, fruity and clean, with good spicy intensity and acid spine to the citrus flavors. The spicy finish repeats the orange note. Shows good complexity for the price. 88 points, By Josh Raynolds for Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Jul/Aug 10. 2009 Woop Woop Shiraz
Inky ruby. Blackberry, candied violet, sassafras, bitter chocolate and smoky herbs on the nose. Dense and sweet but with tangy, integrated acidity energizing the dark fruit and bitter chocolate flavors. Finishes with sweet tannins and good juicy length. 89 points, Josh Reynolds for Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar. Black fruit aromas. Dark fruit, smoke, hard spices, soft & fully ripe tannins on the palate. 87 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Advocate): "The 2009 Shiraz was matured in French and American oak, 10% new. Deep garnet purple colored, it displays notes of blackberry compote, eucalyptus, anise, cinnamon and cardamom. Medium-full bodied, there's medium to high acid and a medium level of grainy tannins to support the ample flesh, finishing long. Fresh and fruity now, it should continue to keep to 2014+.

2008 The Chook Shiraz / Viognier
From Ben Riggs - With 2008 being the sixth vintage of this cleverly crafted Shiraz Viognier blend, The Chook has gained fans from all across the world including here, in Australia. The 2008 vintage again provided excellent fruit. The seamless integration of Shiraz co-fermented with Viognier, generates a seductive nose of apricots, spice and ripe berries. The palate is smooth and full of rich flavour, perfect for a long lingering finish of delightfully soft Shiraz fruit, but not without the punch. " Glass-staining ruby. Ripe aromas of black raspberry, licorice and a touch of vanilla. Generous and open, with a spicy quality to the sweet flavors of raspberry, cherry and candied violet. This delivers a lot of mid-palate sweetness and very good finishing clarity and spiciness." 90 points - International Wine Cellar

NV The Sparkling Chook
89 points, Stephen Tanzer's IWC. Vivid ruby, with a frothy mousse. Bright raspberry and cherry on the nose and palate, with subtle white pepper and spice notes adding vibrancy. Nervy and less sweet than most versions of this genre, with good back-end lift and tangy bite. Finishes with good clarity and a strong echo of fresh red berries. -Josh Raynolds. "This non vintage wine sparkles to the tune of a well-balanced blend; predominantly three-year-old Shiraz, aged in old French oak barrels showing wonderful smooth integrated fruit and a rich weighty texture across the palate. This is blended with a touch of younger vintage Shiraz bringing ripe juicy fruit characters to the finished product. The fruit is sourced from premium Shiraz growing regions including McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek with the result being a rich, luscious Sparkling Shiraz that is well balanced and destined to compliment pork and turkey or any occasion to celebrate!" - Winery Notes
