2009 Vini Nobilis Falanghina Sannio

The ancient Romans admired the historic Sannio region. Even earlier, the Greeks had recognized the privileged nature of the place, introducing vines which still stand out today. Driven by its wish to replicate ancient miracles, Vini Nobilis today is producing high quality wines by capturing in each bottle a historic piece of a land with great wine traditions.

Rich golden apple nose, juicy acids, mineral. Sweet floral notes and pear. Shy palate, nicer nose. Grew on me. Tasty - very nice example. The finest wine from the Falanghina grape grown in the Sannio region. A rich aroma, dry, balanced, and delicate taste and aromas of cut flowers and green apples. Rich aromas with a dry, delicate taste. Aromas of citrus and white flowers make it perfectly structured for foods. Serve at 8-10°C with fish and seafood.

2009 Vini Nobilis Aglianico Sannio

Sannio was awarded its DOC status in 1997 and within its regulations, requires that the grapes be sourced from hillside vineyards, where the climate is ideal for the cultivation of vines and the best quality is found, rather than from the valley floor vineyards where the temperature is humid. Despite modern winemaking methods, wineries continue to adhere to tradition, using ancient varieties in their wines. The Vini Nobilis wine company prides itself on a revival of Campania wine-making traditions, making hand-crafted wines from soils where, for 2,000 years, vines have been cultivated.

A product of the Aglianico grape, the wine features a ruby-red color, pleasant aroma and dry taste. Bang for the buck is awesome. Earthy, black fruit, finishing with drying tannins - lengthy - cocoa, tarry. Violet & plum, nice weight. Grape tannins. Volcano! Best when served at room temperature with red meat, game and pasta dishes.

2008 Castello di San Sano Chianti Classico 08

The small village of San Sano, nestled among the woods that surround the ancient municipality of Gaiole di Chianti, is a discreet elite refuge. This silent and secluded village nestled among oak and chestnut woods is a stone's throw from Gaiole in Chianti. The 230-hectare farm merges the charm of thirteenth century vernacular architecture with an ideal micro climate giving life to the best Chianti grapes, distributed over 90 hectares of vine-planted land.

(Sangiovese 90% / Canaiolo 10% - DOCG Red) - Nice & dry raisiny fruit - Plum, a bit more narrow on the mid-palate. Tasty, good quality, less oak influence. Lengthy - good value. Manual selection from the best company old vineyards of Sangiovese and Canaiolo. Maceration without stalks is performed at a controlled temperature of 28°C for 10-12 days. Malolactic fermentation occurs in cement, followed by maturation partly in 5 hl tonneaux, for a minimum of 15 months. The wine is blended in cement vats. Very wide filtration is applied during the bottling stage, which is followed by ageing in glass for at least 12 months.
