Notes from May 17th Futures in Life Science Event

 

On May 17, 2011, over 90 individuals joined us for the Futures in Life Science Event focusing on Clinical Development, Regulatory, and Medical Affairs.   

This was the 3rd in a series of six deep dives to focus on the various career paths which exist in the life sciences sector. We were very pleased to have an esteemed panel comprised of Laurie Halloran, President and CEO at Halloran Consulting Group as the moderator and Dana Martin, PharmD Senior Director, Medical and Commercial Affairs, Synageva Biopharma; Kevin Pojasek, PhD VP, Corporate Development, Kala Pharmaceuticals, Inc; Mike Poole, MD CMO, Link Medicine; Shawna Cullen, Ph.D., Clinical Trial Head, Oncology, Novartis; and Patrick Melvin, Executive Director, Clinical Development, Oncology, INC Research as panelists.  Each of the individuals provided details about their career paths and the various skills and competencies which are needed to thrive in their areas. Propel Careers Partners with AWIS Boston for Mentoring Connections

 

AWIS Boston is recruiting Mentees for their 2011-2012 MENTORING CIRCLE PROGRAM

This programs provides insights into career advice, advice on work environments, and tips to balance work and family.

What is an AWIS Mentoring Circle?
A Mentoring Circle is a group of 3-5 women scientists committed to meeting monthly to support one another with advice, encouragement and information. Each circle will be coordinated and aided by at least one experienced mentor and one connector. 

 

Who will be in my circle?
The MASS AWIS mentoring committee will review submitted surveys and match you with a circle based on interest, career goals, geography and other factors. 

   

How do I join the MASS AWIS Mentoring Circle Program as a mentee?
- You must be a MASS AWIS chapter member to participate.
