Tuesdays Match Race Practice Starts Now!

Match race practicing today!
Today is the day! We're headed out after work for the first time this season. This week it was Shields, and next week forward, it will be Match 40s.  Be sure to register before you come, and keep your profiles updated and complete, so we can have our line-ups ready to go and we can maximize our time together out on the water.

Each week is different but through the season we'll cover time and distance, mark roundings, penalties, upwind and downwind tactics, umpiring procedures and lots of starting practice! We begin at 5 p.m. so arrive with your sunscreen, reusable water bottle and life jacket. If you don't have a life jacket, you can borrow one from Oakcliff.
American Spring: May 7th Openings

Easter Saturday was cold wet and windy but Oakcliff sailors toughed it out and filled the two Farr 40s and the Ker 11.3 to capacity.  It was critical to get soem practice in before the American Spring Regatta.   The weather maps are looking much better,  calling for 60 degrees and sun for a weekend of fun, and it just keeps getting better. There are still some spots available for the following Saturday (May 7). If you are available please register now

Next week Dave Perry returns to run a two-day clinic attached to Oakcliff's  Grade 3 Spring Clinegatta, May 5-8. We have a great lineup of sailors and crew and still need volunteers, both on the race course and onshore for housing and hospitality.

It's a great way to be part of  amazing events happening in your own back yard.  To volunteer to be part of the upcoming action and maybe to take a cute sailor or two home visit our calendar   (click on the event you can help with) or email Race Director Bill Simon at b.simon@oakcliffsailing.org

I know we keep saying this season is going great - but it really is!  If you haven't been out yet, plan on it.  The competition is up and the energy is high.

See you here soon!
