First UP - ABC Qualifiers & AYC IRC
Ker 50 on her way to the racecourseThe alphabet soup in the headline means simply that racing is starting soon.  Once again we will be fielding teams and are taking sign ups  for American Spring.

Oakcliff is also hosting the first ABC Qualifier for the US Match Racing Championships.  This will be held April 15-17 and you can email race@oakcliffsailing.org for a request for invite.

Melges 24's Now and 2013
M24 & maurice
It was just announced that the 2013 Melges 24 World Championship will be hosted by the San Francisco Yacht Club. The event will take place from September 28 through October 5 2013, one week after the America's Cup Finals.

It is not too early to start planning.  This summer Oakcliff will host two 'one design clinegattas' where you can work with your team to get your skill levels up.  We are also working to expanding Oakcliff's reach with a potential South Shore Circuit.  More details to follow on this one but for now if you are interested you can sign up on the calendar or at least pencil in June 11, July 9 and August 14.

Our intention is to also run the Shields Clinegatta on the same days.
Qualify for Shields Nationals
Sheilds
Do you want to race in a national championship?  You can!  Oakcliff and Seawanhaka will be hosting the Shield Nationals this Fall.  The really cool part about the Shields class is anyone who makes the commitment, charters an Oakcliff Shields and sails 10 events.   This is a time tested class with strong tradition of top notch competition.  Teams will be coming from the very strong Newport Fleet and as far away as California.  If you are interested in a charter package for nationals being run September 21-24 email your request to race@oakcliffsailing.org

Take advantage of the tease of spring that mother nature is tossing us today and start planning your spring sailing season.

Sincerely,
