Greetings!
Does it feel like Summer was here and gone all in about a week? Does to me but here we go. Labor Day marks the end of summer and the beginning of school. The end of Friday closings and the beginning of detailed traffic reports. At Oakcliff it is the end of hot steamy days and the beginning of two months full of back to back weekend racing. Read on for more details.

Vineyard Race More Windy Than a Hurricane! |
In a race that was marked by over 20% of the fleet dropping out, the Oakcliff Farr 40 had a spectacular sleigh ride out the sound to the mark off of New Haven and then they hung on and slugged it out coming back upwind into the eye of the wind finishing at 8am Sunday Morning. Unfortunately the 50 broke a steering cable while doing 21 knots. We were all disappointed but also realize it could have been a lot worse. There was another boat in this class who was hitting 26 knots when their mast fell down. Again congratulations to the Farr 40 team who stayed tough and finished the race! Mark and Sue DiSanti, Ron Saccardo, Vlad, Alec Snyder, Eric Barreveld Bob Zazerra, John Baum, Paul Bacchioocchi, and Patrick Morris.
