The first step in the ladder to reaching the US SAILING Match Race Championships will happen this weekend in Oyster Bay Harbor.

Bruce Cook is leading the organization and the umpire team. Sue Miller is our PRO. Racing will likely be visible from shore (wind dependent) so feel free to come down.

We are happy to announce that the 1st place team will win a 50 minute relaxation massage at Hand and Stone of Huntington.

COMPETITORS: Weigh in and registration is from 8 to 9am on Saturday. For this regatta only we will be providing sandwiches as per US SAILING'S NOR but we still ask that you bring a reusable water bottle. There will also be a BBQ at the club on Saturday night for sailors and volunteers.

SUPPORTERS: We have a limited number of dinner tickets available for $20. If you would like to join in the festivities please send an email to: race@oakcliffsailing.org

PRACTICE ON SUNDAY:  Looking at the forecast Sunday is going to be the better day to practice.  Meeting will be at 4 South Street at 10am.  The plan for now is to sail one Farr 40 and the Ker 11.5.  The 50 is also an option depending on the number of supporters and coaches who are available.   If you have not already done so please go to:  Sunday IRC Practice to sign up.

AMERICAN SPRING: We will be finalizing the crew lists for the various boats early next week. If you are planning on racing for American Spring and have not signed up on line - please do so by clicking here: American Spring   If you have any questions send a message to race@oakcliffsailing.org

ROUND BLOCK ISLAND: We are looking at fielding a team for the Round Block Island Race onboard the Ker 50. We have a sponsor interested in chartering the boat and placing a solid core team on board. As a part of this charter (and part of our mission) we are reserving a number of slots for supporters of Oakcliff. If you are interested, please go to Round Block Island Raceto apply for this team. The practice will be May 15th and the start is Friday May 28th. We are looking to field a strong and talented group.
I hope that you are enjoying your time with Oakcliff Sailing Center.  We all are staring  season in full steam ahead mode.  We couldn't do it without all of our volunteers and supporters so thank you!  If you are not a supporter yet - please join the team.  More information is at:  Support Oakcliff Sailing

See you soon!
Sincerely,

Tonight the Oyster Bay Main Street Association will be holding their meeting and friend-raiser at 2 South Street. The festivities begin at 7:00. We are happy to be a part of this community.
