Computer Kiosk at CCAC
To help our customers both expedite and improve their time here at CCAC, a computer kiosk will be installed near the customer service desk. This kiosk will be available to CCAC customers for both online registration and survey taking. Online registration is a great option for those who know what class to register for, especially when at the club and the customer service staff is busy assisting other customers.
Surveys are taken very seriously here at CCAC, and are a great way to provide information on ways to help us make sure our programs fit your needs. Having the ability to fill your survey out online before heading home is a great way to keep communicating with us so we can try to meet your expectations.

Summer Programs
The CCAC 2011 summer tennis program is in full swing. For the first session, we have had 86 lesson participants, which is outstanding. The summer has been broken into 4, 2-week sessions, which should make it easy on families to reduce their commitment to lessons while focusing on family time. The big, new program offered this year are outdoor jr. tennis camps! These camps are very comprehensive, as they go 2 weeks, 4 days per week, 2.5 hours per day. Our focus this year - develop our own short term and long term tennis goals, then set a game plan on meeting those goals. New sessions are always starting. These camps are an amazing way to get ready for the upcoming high school season, or for developing one's game for future tournaments, team play, etc.

NITTL Wrap-Up
Centre Court had 5 women's and 1 men's team compete this year in the Northern Illinois Travel Tennis League. All the teams did great, and two made the playoffs! The Division 1 Central team finished the regular season in second place. After a hard fought finals match, their season ended as the post season runner up. The Division 2 Central team led their league from wire to wire, and held off the 2nd place team in the title match to end the season as both the regular season and post season champions. Congratulations to all the NITTL participants this year. You represented CCAC extremely well and we look forward to the new season in September, 2011.
Speaking of the new NITTL season, we will have our annual NITTL summer camp kickoff the week of August 29, 2011. More details to come. Interested in playing NITTL this season? Have any questions about NITTL? Please contact either Will Tennant (ext. 113) or Art Steuber (ext. 114) at the club for more information.

New Fall Junior Program
It has been almost a year now since I was hired as the Director of Racquet Sports at CCAC. During this time, a majority of it was spent analyzing the current state of CCAC junior and adult tennis. In my opinion, we can do a better job. So, I've put together a more comprehensive program that will allow for maximum junior development while also providing more class and age appropriate levels. The ultimate goal of this program is to 'GET THE KIDS HITTING MORE'! First, CCAC will offer five, 7-week sessions throughout the upcoming indoor season. A one week break is also scheduled between sessions to allow for timely sign up, not to mention a potentially needed break. Second, we will go by a color system (similar to karate belts), which clearly explains the expectations of each class. This will make it easier on everyone when determining which class a participant should be in. Third, I am expanding the Quickstart 10 and under program to provide for maximum development of our youngest participants. Finally, with our goal being to get the kids hitting, we will offer additional times throughout the week for the kids to come and practice/play. Just as kids do math every day at school, we need them playing more than 1 hour each week to get better. Each participant should try to play at least one other time per week, so, we will offer junior drop- in drills throughout the week and on the weekends. This is also a great option to take advantage of during the week between sessions! In addition to drills, we will start an in-house junior team tennis program where kids will form into teams and play a series of singles, doubles and mixed doubles at each event. A travel team tennis program is also available and is currently being considered. For the Quickstart program, we'll introduce an end of session 'fun night' where the kids will play a round robin format tournament, with everyone getting prizes, pizza and possibly a movie to cap off the night. Look for more information in August, 2011. I expect to have a flowchart of the upcoming junior tennis program available around the club soon. For more information, please feel free to contact Will or Art at the club.
