Mercy Gilbert Becomes First Skylight Client in the Nation to Introduce Patients to Video Chat
Patients Can Now Video Chat with Family and Friends Directly from Their Hospital Beds
Earlier this year, Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, a member of Catholic Healthcare West
(CHW), became the first Skylight client hospital in the nation to introduce live video
connection from patients in their Family Birth Center and Palliative
Care Program to family members and friends outside of the hospital.
This new feature called iCareChat™ is a fully integrated add-on to their Skylight ACCESS System.
Earlier this summer, at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center in Gilbert, AZ
where temperatures outside were a scorching 104°F, a new mother
delivered a baby girl. Hours later, the new mom was introducing her
new bundle of joy to the anxiously awaiting grandparents who sat in
their home in Manchester, England, where outside it was a cold and
rainy 61°F. Their home immediately warmed up with smiles and excitement
when they got to see their new granddaughter for the very first time.

Stanford Hospital & Clinics Celebrates New System
When a patient checks in to Stanford Hospital from now on, the
room wall will have an extra special something. Stanford now features Skylight ACCESS as the platform powering the new Stanford At Your Service (SAYS) system displayed on new 26-inch monitors.
From left to right: Martha Marsh, President and CEO, Stanford Hospital & Clinics, Myra Lang, RN, MS, Patient Care Manager, Stanford Hospital & Clinics and David Schofield, President and CEO, Skylight Healthcare Systems | SAYS
receives information about each patient from the Hospital's admissions,
transfer and discharge offices. SAYS includes a complete video tour of the
Hospital and a full listing of all patient service−like the animal therapy
program, PAWS. The day before a patient is to be discharged, SAYS will display
a reminder about what's involved in the process. If a patient is moved to a new
room, the system will remember what video the patient was watching and have it
ready to be watched.
